6 Drugstore Cleansers Editors Swear By
Cleansing is an essential step in any skin-care routine (it should be your first, actually), but that doesn’t mean it needs to be pricey. Although there are more expensive options out there that we absolutely swear by (looking at you IT Cosmetics Confidence in a Cleanser), some of the best face cleansers, in our opinion, live at your local drugstore. We’ve rounded up our favorite affordable cleansers, ahead:

Skin Type: Normal
First on my list is the La Roche-Posay Toleriane Hydrating Cleanser, a soap-free formula that’s fragrance free and non-comedogenic. It’s a great option for my sometimes sensitive skin and is formulated with ceramides, niacinamide and glycerin that help give my skin that silky smooth feeling. I tend to stay away from anything that makes my skin feel stripped, and this one gives me a nice balance of clean and hydrated.
For travel, my go-to is the Cerave Hydrating Cleanser bar. It is easy to transport and does wonders for my skin. This one is also non-comedogenic and free of fragrance (a must for me), and it contains ceramides and hyaluronic acid which help to maintain the skin’s natural barrier while also retaining moisture. This is crucial for me during cold, dry months (ahem, now), when my skin needs all the hydration it can get and creates the perfect base for the rest of my skin-care routine.

Skin Type: Dry
Not only is the aesthetic of this jelly cleanser really pretty, but it's effective, too. Leave the cleanser on your face for about ten to 20 seconds and the formula will work to remove your makeup. I love the jelly-like texture and find it to be very refreshing on my skin.
Pacifica has my heart. I love their products because they’re full of skin-loving ingredients and they always smell so great. I like to use this face wash in the morning to wake up my skin and prep it with antioxidants.

Skin Type: Combination
By far my favorite drugstore cleanser in the book, this apple cleanser by Innisfree wakes me up in the morning and is such a treat every time I use it. The foam it creates really makes me feel like I’m getting a deep clean every time, and it does a spot-on job at cleansing my combination skin. Above all, it’s gentle, making it a perfect fit for my moody skin, and at $8 a pop, it’s worth every penny.
Because my skin is super dry on some days but oily the next, I need a cleanser that’s going to soothe it no matter its state — and this daily face wash hits the nail on the head. It’s super silky, smooth and feels like it’s hydrating my skin with every wash. There’s not much more I could ask for in a drugstore cleanser!
