Why You Need To Wash Your Hair

There are plenty of women out there that can be heard humble-bragging about how long they’ve made their blowouts last by holding out on washing their strands. Nothing against enjoying your blowout for as long as possible, but it’s important to remember that washing your hair regularly is incredibly important for proper hair care.

Let’s first discuss the case against. Washing your hair too often may decrease the amount of natural oils attached to your locks. These oils are, in fact, extremely vital towards your hair’s overall health. Shampooing too often could strip your hair of these oils, leaving it open to brittleness and other forms of damage. This, obviously, is not an entirely unfounded reason to avoid over-washing your hair. However, washing your hair once a week is not necessarily a solution either.

As much as you should aim to maintain a healthy balance in your hair’s natural oils, there’s such a thing as too much oil in your hair (just as there’s such a thing as too much oil on your skin). If you don’t wash your hair regularly, chances are it will look flat and dirty—not to mention begin to smell terribly. These reasons, along with others, are just a few incentives to amp up your hair-washing routine. For the full case on why you need to wash your hair, head over to Hair.com!
