How to Score Skin-Care Freebies at Walgreens, According to Reddit

Our daily sweep of Reddit’s Skincare Addiction is always a mixture of skin-care shelfies, routines, can’t-live-without products and advice. But every now and then, we’re met with something new and exciting — say, a tip for a new product that’s launching or a can’t-miss sale. Today, we found a post from a Redditor sharing her hoard of skin-care samples from her local Walgreens. As beauty enthusiasts looking to sample all the things, we needed to know how she managed to get ‘em.

The skin-care samples included CeraVe Moisturizing Cream, two boxes of La-Roche Posay Lipikar Balm AP+, two packets of No7 Laboratories Line Correcting Booster Serum and two jars of CeraVe Healing Ointment. According to the Redditor, this specific Walgreens was giving out free sample bags for no apparent reason. Beauty bags are usually reserved for special promotions or a gift with purchase, but we discovered that another way to score samples is by asking a Walgreens Beauty Consultant.

One Redditor who works as a Walgreens Beauty Consultant writes, “If you see someone in your Walgreens in the cosmetic department wearing a black jacket with pink piping and a brush belt, that’s who you can ask about samples. I keep a full drawer of La Roche-Posay, Vichy and CeraVe samples and I make bags with mini routines for people based on their skin. Not everyone keeps samples though. A lot of people give them out the second they get them. It all depends.”

So if you’re wondering how to access Walgreen’s beauty samples, you should start by seeing if your local store has Beauty Advisors. Chat with them for advice and product recs based on your specific skin type. And for even more rewards, sign up to become a Walgreens Beauty Enthusiast. For every $50 spent on beauty products, you’ll get a $5 reward. Plus, you’ll also have access to exclusives promotions and samples — and we all know how important that is.
