These DIY Face Mask Videos Have Us Mesmerized

I’m assuming we’re collectively all too familiar with the oh-so inevitable Instagram abyss. You know, the one where you start looking at cute pictures of celebrity kids’ outfits and three hours later find yourself doing a deep dive on do-it-yourself face mask tutorials. Yea, same. And because I couldn’t let all my insights gleaned from watching ingredients being mixed and blended in bowls go to waste, I’ve rounded them up below for your Instagram-watching pleasure. Ahead, find seven mesmerizing DIY face mask videos that are beyond entertaining, a little weird and also have some legitimate benefits for your skin

DIY Face Mask #1: Potato Chips Are Always Self-Care

If we’re being candid, this face mask doesn’t actually involve potato chips — but the look of it could have you fooled. Spoiler, the things on her face are actually cotton pads. Daniela combines one freshly squeezed orange with a tablespoon of honey. She then soaks cotton pads in the mixture and sticks them on her face. This do-it-yourself mask is great for acne-prone skin. Plus, it’s a great excuse to eat some chips while you mask.

DIY Face Mask #2: Caffeine First, Clear Skin Later

Coffee is pretty much a miracle drink. Given the known superpowers of this morning-pick-me up,  we weren’t shocked that the ingredient was used in a DIY mask. All @emeraldxbeauty uses in this concoction is a scoop of coffee grounds and a splash of apple cider vinegar. Coffee is a great exfoliant and helps fight acne. Plus, the caffeine works to brighten and depuff skin. It’s official, coffee solves all our problems.

DIY Face Mask #3: The Ultimate Superfood

First things first, gather your ingredients. You’ll need honey (for moisture), greek yogurt (for exfoliation and anti-aging) and turmeric (for inflammation and brightening). Mix everything together until you have a smooth consistency. Apply the neon orange (it’s really bright) mask to your face, let it sit for 15 minutes and then wash it off with warm water. Prepare to have the wonders of turmeric amaze you — your skin will be glowing after this mask.

DIY Face Mask #4: Face Mask, Jelly Time

This DIY face mask by @eltoria is not only going to give you major glow, but the video is also ridiculously entertaining — we’re watching on repeat. Basically you’re going to need a superfruit tea bag that is rich in antioxidants, boiling water and MetaMucil. Easy enough. Combine the tea bag with boiling water, mix in MetaMucil and then microwave the mixture for a minute. Pop it in the fridge to cool and then place the jelly mask on your face. Just a heads-up, you’re going to want to poke in some breathing holes.

DIY Face Mask #5: You Are What You Eat

Apparently edible skin-care is a thing? Well, at least it is for @salihsworld. To his defense, bananas, honey and yogurt kind of sounds more like a parfait than a face mask. Jokes aside, this mixture is actually pretty nourishing — bananas happen to be a great hydrator for dry skin. So raid your fridge and whip up this glowy face mask, STAT.

DIY Face Mask #6: The One for Your Armpits

Get your workout and your masking done all at once with this um, interesting, armpit mask. The point of this DIY cream is to help fade dark spots under your armpits. The catch? You have to hold up your arms for nearly 10 minutes to let the ingredients do their thing. Thankfully, making it is easy. All you need is three tablespoons of baking soda, lemon juice and a teaspoon of antioxidant-packed matcha powder.

DIY Face Mask #7: Guac Is Extra

This homemade avocado mask is great if you have sensitive skin. Blend up a mixture of avocado, honey, egg whites and yogurt and apply it all over your face. Let it sit for around 15 minutes; it should start to harden. Rinse it off with warm water and you should notice a brighter complexion. Warning: It’s crazy messy, so proceed with caution.
