Why We Love Decléor’s New Orexcellence Facial Pilates Spa Ritual

If you love face yoga, you’re going to love Decléor’s Orexcellence Facial Pilates. We were invited to enjoy this new facial compliments of Decléor to review and share our experience with our readers! Find out what we thought ahead!

Between the relaxing breathing exercises, energizing body movements, and core-strengthening workouts, it’s no wonder why so many women (and men!) dedicate themselves to regular Pilates classes. Beneficial for the mind, body, and soul, practicing Pilates can leave your body feeling simultaneously relaxed and energized. On top of all that, it can help to strengthen and sculpt your muscles, too! With that being said, it should come as no surprise why Decléor chose the popular workout as inspiration for their latest anti-aging facial, Orexcellence Facial Pilates.

Created with the benefits of Pilates in mind, Decléor’s Orexcellence Facial Pilates is a 60-90 minute in-spa experience that incorporates a combination of breathing techniques, energy pressure points, and drainage movements designed to stimulate blood circulation, as well as induce calmness and deepen relaxation. Much like an actual Pilates class, the facial incorporates a variety of warm up exercises to help revitalize, tone, and stimulate the skin, followed by a series of massaging techniques—coined AROMAPILATES—to help relax the senses and activate the skin’s energy flow. Curious to know more about Decléor’s Orexcellence Facial Pilates? We recently met with the brand’s Education Manager, Keisha Pittman, to experience the workout-inspired facial first-hand and are sharing all the deets—plus, the aromatherapy-inspired products used during the ritual—below.

DECLÉOR OREXCELLENCE FACIAL PILATES: WHAT TO EXPECT

The Orexcellence Facial Pilates in-spa experience begins with a five-minute breathing exercise that is complemented by the aromatic scent of Decléor’s Aromessence Magnolia Youth Serum which helps to guide you into Zen-like relaxation. After you’ve reached relaxation, your esthetician will then use the brand’s Aroma Cleanse Eye Make-Up Remover, Aroma Cleanse Essential Cleansing Milk, and the Aroma Cleanse Essential Tonifying Lotion—followed by the brand’s professional use products, Reflet de Pureté Deep Cleanser and Matière à Gommer Velvet Sensation Peeling—to remove makeup and provide your complexion with a deep cleanse.

Once your mind and body are relaxed and your skin is cleansed, it’s time to move onto a skin analysis. During the skin analysis, the esthetician will evaluate your complexion and address any concerns. Then it’s time to get your facial Pilates on! During facial Pilates, the esthetician will spend about 30 minutes massaging your skin to promote radiant, more youthful-looking skin. In addition to the complexion, this massage technique also focuses on massaging the neck and décolletté. According to Pittman, these two areas are considered to be the sister to your face, so the same things you do to your face, you’ll want to do to your neck and décolletté. You’ll want to follow this rule of thumb with your regular skin care routine as well!

Much like regular Pilates, facial Pilates begins by warming up your facial, neck, and décolletté muscles through two five-minute massage techniques called Aromapressure and Aromadrainage. After you’ve experienced these warm ups, the esthetician will then move onto fifteen minutes of Aromassage, followed by five minutes of the Aromapilates technique, using the

Orexcellence Energy Concentrate Youth Mask.

Once the Aromapilates technique is complete, your esthetician will then apply the Orexcellence Energy Concentrate Youth Mask and let it sit for about five more minutes. “The Youth Mask is formulated with a mild keratolytic complex of sulfonic acid, hyaluronic acid, and vitamin C, which provides skin with a light exfoliation, hydration, brightening and energy,” explains Pittman. The results? Skin that appears softer, smoother, and more youthful-looking.

After the five minutes is up, it’s time to apply a dry and hot oshibori towel to the complexion and perform ascending pressures to the jawline, cheekbones, temples, and forehead. After this movement, your esthetician will then perform a relaxing hand and arm massage before removing the mask residue with the oshibori towel and moving onto the end of ritual.

For the end of ritual, your esthetician will use the brand’s Aroma Cleanse Essential Tonifying Lotion to tone and prep the skin for hydration, followed by the Orexcellence Energy Concentrate Youth Eye Care and Orexcellence Energy Concentrate Youth Cream to hydrate, nourish, and soothe the face, neck, and décolletté.

DECLÉOR OREXCELLENCE FACIAL PILATES: THE EXERCISES

Aromapressure: The facial Pilates exercise begins with a five minute Aromapressure technique, using the brand’s Aromessence Magnolia Youth Serum. This technique can leave the facial muscles feeling relaxed and the skin looking fresh and revitalized.

Aromadrainage: Next up is five minutes of Aromadrainage with the brand’s Aromessence Magnolia Youthful Night Balm. Much like facial yoga, this exercise focuses on decreasing the look of puffiness and water retention in the skin (hence the name “Aromadrainage”).

Aromassage: After these five minute warm ups, it’s time for fifteen minutes of Aromassage with the brand’s Aromessence Magnolia Youthful Night Balm. Aromassage is a series of massage techniques used in the Orexcellence Facial Pilates ritual to relax the facial, neck, and décolletté muscles (and the mind) and prepare your skin for the main event: Aromapilates.

Aromapilates: Using the Orexcellence Energy Concentrate Youth Mask, the Aromapilates massage technique can help to relax your facial muscles and is designed to promote an all over radiance.

Dry Oshibori: Decléor’s Oshibori Ritual is a technique used to relax and warm the complexion by covering the face with a dry and hot towel and performing ascending pressures on the jawline, cheekbones, temples, and forehead to stimulate the pressure point and relax the muscles in these areas.

Hand and Arm Massage: After performing ascending pressures, the facialist will add to the relaxing experience by performing a quick—yet ultra relaxing—hand and arm massage using the brand’s Systeme Corps Moisturizing Milk.

Decléor Aroma Cleanse Eye Make-Up Remover: Used in the beginning of the Orexcellence Facial Pilates ritual, the Aroma Cleanse Eye Make-Up Remover from Decléor is a bi-phased eye makeup remover that can remove stubborn waterproof makeup and soothe the skin.
