The Reformulated CeraVe Hydrating Micellar Water Is So Good It Cut My Nighttime Skin-Care Routine in Half

I'll be honest with you — I can get pretty lazy when it comes to my nighttime skin-care routine. What can I say? I’m a gal who values her sleep and sometimes doesn’t have the time or motivation to go through her usual ten-step skin-care routine. That’s why I’m always searching for products that can help cut down the time it takes to effectively cleanse my face and sweep off remnants of my makeup. When I heard that the CeraVe Hydrating Micellar Water had a new formula that is supposed to be gentle on the eyes and boasts everything I’m looking for, I couldn't wait to try it out for myself. After receiving the product from the brand for purposes of this review, I'm pleased to report that this product does not disappoint. Read on for my full review, ahead.

The Formula

What I appreciate most about this micellar water is that it works triple-duty to effectively cleanse, hydrate and remove makeup without disrupting the protective skin barrier. If you don’t know, your skin barrier is a shield that protects your skin from environmental aggressors. It’s also formulated with three essential ceramides, which help to maintain said skin barrier and hydrate the skin. So not only does this micellar water remove makeup (yes, this includes your stubborn mascara), but it also helps to calm the skin — the ultimate win-win.

My Experience

You can use the micellar water in the morning, but I used it in the evening to help clean away all the accumulated dirt, oil and makeup from my skin’s surface that is inevitably there after a long day of working and commuting in the city. As directed, I saturated a cotton pad and started removing my face makeup. I immediately fell in love with the refreshing formula and the amount of makeup that had disappeared in one swipe — no harsh rubbing necessary. When it came to my eyes, I was sure to be extra gentle and take my time as I didn’t want to lose any lashes during the process. I found that if you soak a cotton pad and hold it over your closed eyes for a couple of seconds, it helps to break down eye makeup, offering a more effortless removal without harsh rubbing. All in all, I am super impressed with this reformulated, multi-tasking micellar water. I loved that I didn’t need to use half the bottle to get the job done and that my skin didn’t feel completely stripped of its moisture once all the makeup was gone. I will definitely be reaching for it every night before bed. Whether you’re in the market for a new makeup remover or are looking to cut down the time of your nighttime skin-care routine, you need to add this hydrating micellar water to your vanity, ASAP.
