7 of Our Favorite Drugstore Skin-Care Products Under $30
A change in season is the perfect time to stock up on new skin-care products. Now that we’re transitioning from spring to summer, we have our eyes on lightweight serums, gentle yet effective cleansers, soothing primers and, of course, broad-spectrum sunscreen. It’s kind of a lot, we know, but luckily there’s a wealth of new drugstore launches to choose from. Here, we’re sharing our top under-$30 picks from our parent company L’Oréal that’ll help you get your skin-care routine summer-ready.
Vichy LiftActiv Peptide-C Anti Aging Ampoule Serum, $29.50 (MSRP)
Amp up your anti-aging game with these wrinkle-targeting ampoules. Each dose contains 10% pure vitamin C, a potent antioxidant, plus hyaluronic acid, phyto peptides and Vichy’s proprietary mineral water to plump, firm and brighten skin.
CeraVe Acne Foaming Cleanser, $14.99 (MSRP)
Be proactive about treating and preventing summer breakouts with this foaming cleanser that contains 4% benzoyl peroxide and effectively removes dirt, excess oil, makeup and other pore-clogging impurities from skin. The addition of hyaluronic acid and ceramides keeps skin from getting dry and irritated.
NYX Professional Makeup Bare With Me Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil SPF 30 Daily Moisturizing Primer, $17.00 (MSRP)
With sun-protecting, soothing and hydrating ingredients, this multi-tasking primer truly goes above and beyond the call of duty. It features SPF 30 and hemp-derived cannabis sativa seed oil to calm and hydrate. Use it as a moisturizer, sunscreen and makeup-boosting primer.
You could say we’re pretty into ampoules right now. For a hydration burst, which really comes in handy after a day in the sun, reach for one of these. Each dose (there are seven in a pack) contains a concentrated hyaluronic acid serum that makes skin noticeably more refreshed and hydrated, as well as smoother and plumper.
We love micellar water cleansers because they’re easy to use (no rinse!) and are gentle on skin. This one is perfect for summer because it contains salicylic acid and lactic acid to exfoliate pores and prevent breakouts, while still being soothing and non-drying.
If you’ve shied away from mineral sunscreens in the past because they have a white cast on your skin, try a tinted one, like this version from CeraVe. In addition to blending into skin, it also blurs imperfections so you can skip foundation. We love that the SPF 30 sunscreen contains ceramides to lock in moisture and makes skin feel hydrated, not greasy.
La Roche-Posay Anthelios Melt-in Milk Body & Face Sunscreen Lotion Broad Spectrum SPF 100, $24.99 (MSRP)
La Roche-Posay now offers its popular Anthelios Melt-In Milk sunscreen in SPF 100. With sun protection that high, you may expect the formula to be thick and chalky, but as one of our editors discovered while reviewing it, it has a velvety finish that’s easy to blend and doesn’t leave behind a white cast.
