Sip and Glow: A Superfood Smoothie Recipe For Glowing Skin
Whether you’re drinking it on the go for breakfast or as a post-workout snack, a smoothie can be a beneficial—and easy—way to get your daily intake of superfoods. Superfoods—like berries, honey, and seeds—can contain everything from fiber, fatty acids, and antioxidants that can be beneficial for our bodies and our complexions. This summer, we’re sipping on our office favorite, a fruity blueberry-orange smoothie, a delicious afternoon treat for both our taste buds and our skin.
If one thing’s for sure, it’s that this superfood smoothie is jam-packed with nutrients. Blueberries and oranges contain antioxidants like vitamin C. Plus the sweet blueberries mixed with the tart citrus, offers up a truly refreshing flavor perfect for hot days in the office—and lounging near the pool! We like to blend our smoothie with Greek yogurt—known for being a great source of probiotics—and chia seeds for their omega-3 fatty acids. Add in a banana and honey for a touch of sweetness and get ready to meet your new favorite snack.
- 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1 cup frozen blueberries
- ½ banana, peeled
- ½ cup fresh-squeezed orange juice
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 1 cup ice cubes
Place all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into a glass and enjoy!
