- Vichy Minéral 89 Hyaluronic Face Moisturizer Is Getting Me Through the Dry Winter
Hyaluronic acid is a gold-standard for intense hydration. It’s a moisturizing powerhouse, so it’s no surprise that you can get your fix in everything from serums and moisturizers to eye creams and lip balms. We can’t seem to get enough of the ingredient, so when Vichy sent over complimentary samples of Minéral 89 Hyaluronic Face Moisturizer for the purposes of this review, we had to test it out, ASAP. Ahead find everything you need to know about this addition to the Vichy lineup. Trust us, you won’t be disappointed.
What Is Hyaluronic Acid?
With the ability to attract and hold on to up to 1000 times its weight in water, hyaluronic acid is potent ingredient. Plus, it’s responsible for the radiant, hydrated and plump-looking skin associated with youth. At a young age, your body has a natural store of hyaluronic acid, but as you ring in more and more birthdays, the abundance decreases and signs of aging, like fine lines and wrinkles, become more apparent. Using products with hyaluronic acid helps to plump, moisturize and illuminate skin for a radiant glow.
The Ingredient Lowdown
Minéral 89 Hyaluronic Face Moisturizer is a lightweight and fast absorbing product that combines 89 percent Mineralizing Thermal Water with hyaluronic acid to formulate a fortifying and hydrating daily skin booster. Mineralizing Thermal Water, which contains 15 minerals, soothes and strengthens skin against external aggressors like pollution and cold weather, while the hyaluronic acid plumps and hydrates. Safe for sensitive skin, this moisturizer is paraben-, silicone-, fragrance- and alcohol-free.

My Thoughts
Before even testing out the product, I quickly became obsessed with its sleek packaging. The beauty booster is housed in a glass bottle and features an elegant blue-ombré design (great for a skin-care shelf picture) that instantly conjures up images of the bubbling French thermal waters used in its formula.
I decided to incorporate the moisturizer into my morning and nighttime skin-care routine. After cleansing my face, I applied two drops of Minéral 89 to my skin. I immediately fell for its lightweight texture. Many hyaluronic acid serums have a liquid consistency that I find make it challenging to figure out the right amount to apply. This moisturizer was different; it had a gel-like texture and easy-to-use pump, so I knew I wasn’t wasting any product. Upon application, I found that there was no greasy or sticky residue left behind; I felt fresh and hydrated. Another pleasant surprise? It layered nicely under makeup and almost worked as veil of primer for my foundation.
A few weeks after incorporating the hyaluronic acid serum into my routine, I noticed my skin felt more hydrated, plumped and toned. What’s more, it seemed that day after day my skin was radiating a healthy-looking glow, which was much appreciated with the harsh winter air.
*I was gifted this product for the purposes of this review, but all opinions and thoughts are my own.
