The Skincare.com team was sent complimentary samples of the Yves Saint Laurent Beauty foundations to try, and we’re sharing our reviews of them below!

Foundations are a dime a dozen, but not all of them are created equal. Some formulas can look cakey, make skin feel heavy, and actually end up drawing more attention to problem spots you hoped to conceal. That’s why it’s crucial to find a blend that not only matches your skin tone (dark streaks, be gone!), but also offers a lightweight feel and natural-looking finish. Need help finding a foundation for your skin? You’re in luck. Ahead, we share our reviews of Yves Saint Laurent foundations. Keep reading to discover what we thought!

Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat Foundation Review

Why We Love It: Looking well-rested is no easy task when you’re running on too-few hours of shut-eye. Dark circles, a dull, uneven complexion, and fatigued eyes are all potential culprits of a lack of beauty sleep. To help restore your ‘tired look’ to luminous perfection, look no further than this radiance awakening foundation by YSL Beauty. The advanced formula—enriched with ruscus extract and vitamin E—helps target dullness to visibly improve skin brightness while camouflaging problem spots and protecting against free radicals.. Don’t let it replace actual sleep though since that can lead to long-term consequences for your skin (we list a few of them here!).

After browsing through the 22 available shades, I found one that looks nearly identical to my actual skin tone. It’s a huge pet peeve of mine when foundation looks darker and streaky around my jawline, creating a clear distinction between the tone of my neck and the tone of my face. Luckily, this formula is properly shade matched to avoid such disasters. When worn, the foundation leaves a seamless, natural glow to my skin with a slight bit of dewiness without ever looking greasy. On days I need to cover up extra spots, I dab on a bit more product to build the coverage. Easy, peasy.

Recommended for: All skin tones, especially those eager for a healthy-looking glow.
To Use: Using the brand’s Y-Brush (sold separately), pump two drops of Touche Eclat Foundation into the well and apply. The brush buffs and distributes product evenly across skin for a flawless finish every time. Be sure to layer the product with your favorite SPF since there’s none in the formula.

Yves Saint Laurent Fusion Ink Foundation Review

Why We Love It: We look to foundation to help camouflage problem areas we want to hide from the public eye. As such, the best formulas are those that look incredibly natural, ones that never cake up or weigh down the skin. One formula in particular that passes the test?  Yves Saint Laurent Fusion Ink Foundation. The exclusive fine-as-ink formula helps disguise uneven marks while offering soft-matte perfection and comfort. Best of all, the formula boasts SPF 18 to help protect skin from harmful UV rays. With 21 different shades, there’s certainly a tone out there for everyone.

When I tried this liquid foundation, I was shocked by how weightless and silky it felt on my skin. The formula melted immediately with absolutely zero greasiness to reveal a natural, matte finish. I use more than just a few drops for extra coverage, but the formula still doesn’t cake up. Sometimes I even forget I’m wearing it! Most impressive of all, my foundation looks like it was just applied by the end of the day, a feat that not all foundations can achieve. To set everything into place and mattify the appearance of my skin further, I usually follow up with powder and setting spray.

Recommended for: All skin tones.
To Use: Shake well. Zone the face with swipes of the applicator and gently blend the formula with your fingers or a sponge.

Yves Saint Laurent Youth Liberator Serum Foundation Review

Why We Love It: I’m a sucker for foundations that boast broad-spectrum SPF in their formulas because it’s an added layer of protection against skin-damaging UVA/UVB rays. But broad-spectrum SPF 20 isn’t the only thing this foundation has got going for it. The formula—infused with the brand’s award-winning Forever Youth Liberator Serum—helps hydrate and nourish skin, brighten dull areas, camouflage problem spots, and unify and even all skin tones. Choose from 10 universal shades.

This product offers just the right amount of coverage to hide the occasional pimple or dark spot that crops up on my complexion. I love how lightweight it feels, even when additional coverage is added over the course of the day. The satin finish mimics the appearance of hydrated skin and provides a healthy glow within minutes. What’s more, the range of six shades work well for light to dark skin tones.

Recommended for: All skin tones.
To Use: Pump a few drops of formula to skin and blend gently with your fingers, a brush, or a sponge.
