Nécessaire The Sunscreen
I like to spend as much time as possible outside in the summer, so mineral sunscreen is my skincare MVP. I test a ton of them! One of my new favorites in this product category is the Nécessaire The Sunscreen. The facial sunscreen is powered by 20% zinc oxide and offers SPF 30 to help shield the skin from the sun’s harmful UV rays. I love that it’s lightweight yet hydrating, really sinks into my skin and is fragrance-free. It also layers well under foundation and doesn’t behind a white cast on my skin.
SkinCeuticals Photo A+ Brightening Treatment
I’m super intrigued by this brightening moisturizer from SkinCeuticals. The oil-free, gel-creme formula is infused with ingredients like azelaic acid, alpha arbutin and a phyto botanical blend to help reduce redness, even out the skin tone and minimize the appearance of pores and blemish marks. How’s that for a triple threat? And while it boasts some impressive and powerful claims, according to the brand, it’s also suitable to be used on sensitive skin.

L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Derm Intensives 12% Vitamin C + E + Salicylic Acid Serum
My acne-prone skin needs a stern AHA or BHA routine no matter what products I use, which is why I love incorporating serums, toners and moisturizers with acids into my routine. This salicylic-acid infused vitamin C serum is exactly what I need because it works to improve the appearance of uneven skin tone, large pores and lines, all while protecting my skin from free radicals and pollution. It instantly wakes up my skin every morning, and I’ve noticed a clearer, brighter complexion since I started using it.
Hyper Skin Gentle Brightening Cleanser with Mandelic Acid
I like to switch up my cleansers based on my skin’s needs during different seasons. When summer rolls around, I crave a formula that helps detox my skin and keep it matte. This gel cleanser does that and more with mandelic acid, bearberry, willow bark and licorice root. Not to mention, it feels super refreshing on the skin and doesn’t leave my complexion feeling dry or stripped.

Youth to the People Polypeptide-121 Future Cream
My skin is dry and on the sensitive side, so I’m always looking for a moisturizer that will hydrate without provoking redness or reactivity. So far, this cream from Youth to the People has been a win. Ceramides, antioxidants and plant proteins help care for my skin’s moisture barrier and defend against environmental stressors (living in a city, there are a lot of those!). I’m excited to continue using this moisturizer to see if I notice any firming benefits!
La Roche-Posay Effaclar Salicylic Acid Acne Treatment Serum
On top of my skin being sensitive, I also experience some very annoying hormonal breakouts. When my skin is acting up, I apply this serum before moisturizer. I only use it once or twice a week, although those with more oily or acne-prone skin could get away with applying it daily. The gently exfoliating, salicylic acid-infused formula has made the pores on my cheeks look noticeably smaller and helps shrink the pimples I tend to get on my chin and jawline area. It can also be used to fade discoloration from acne scars!Alyssa, Assistant Editor
CeraVe Comforting Eye Makeup Remover with Hyaluronic Acid
Despite double cleansing, I always find myself in need of an eye makeup remover to fully get rid of the last traces of mascara around my eyes. I’ve been enjoying this one a lot because it has a unique milky formula that gently and effectively removes leftover makeup. It gets the job done without being too oily, too drying or forcing me to rub too much around my eye area.
Rhode Skin Peptide Lip Treatment in Watermelon Slice
Like other beauty enthusiasts, I was excited to get my hands on Rhode products and see what all of the buzz is about. When I tried this dewy lip treatment, I immediately fell in love with the texture and the juicy watermelon scent. The gel-like formula drenches the lips in hydration and creates an ultra-shiny, luminous finish that lasts for around three hours.

I’ve gone to the beach more this summer than any summer before. And while I’m always up for a good tan, I’m never up for a sunburn — which is why the Kinship Self Reflect Sport SPF 60 has come in so handy for me this season.
