- 5 Face Masks You Need in Your Spring Beauty Regimen
If you’re looking for ways to kick your skin care routine up a notch this spring, we recommend incorporating face masks into your weekly regimen. Face masks allow you to address any skin care concerns you may have after the long winter months—dullness, dryness, you know the drill—while also giving you an opportunity to pamper your skin while you kick back and relax for a bit. Below we’re sharing five of the best face masks from The Body Shop’s Beauty Recipes from Nature collection—use them individually or multi-mask for a more personalized experience this spring!
For a Spring Clean: Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask
If you have congested pores, try this purifying mud mask inspired by ancient Ayurveda that cools on contact with the skin and helps to give it a deep clean. The tingling face mask is formulated with bamboo charcoal, green tea leaves, and Community Trade tea tree oil and helps to decongest and refine the look of pores to reveal a glowing complexion. The mask helps to draw out impurities and excess oils while simultaneously exfoliating the skin’s surface. Esthetician for The Body Shop, Vanda Serrador suggests using this mask at room temperature and to apply with a facial mask brush for a spa-like application. To remove easily, soak a muslin cloth in warm (not hot!) water and squeeze out the excess. Place the cloth over your face and press it onto the skin with your hands. Then, use the cloth to gently remove the mask by using circular motions.
To Kiss Dull-Looking Skin Goodbye: Chinese Ginseng and Rice Clarifying Polishing Mask
Winter weather can often leave our complexions looking dull and lackluster, but that dull-looking skin tone is no match for this creamy exfoliating face mask. Formulated with Community Trade sesame seed oil, ginseng, and rice extracts, this mask helps to moisturize and brighten the appearance of the skin. Serrador suggests using this mask warm. Scoop some of the face mask into your hand to warm it and then use a facial brush to apply it to the skin.
For a Burst of Hydration: British Rose Fresh Plumping Mask
After a cold, dry winter skin can look and feel dehydrated and parched. If your complexion is thirsty for some hydration, reach for this gel-textured mask. Formulated with real rose petals, rosehip oil, the essence of hand-picked roses, and Community Trade aloe vera, the floral-scented face mask is a must-have for spring. It helps to re-plump and tone the appearance of the skin while hydrating your parched complexion to leave it looking dewy and gorgeous. To use this mask, warm it up in your hands to release the fabulous fresh scent of British roses and then use a brush to paint it onto your complexion.
To Deeply Nourish: Ethiopian Honey Deep Nourishing Mask
With a melting honey like texture—thanks in large part to its formula with real Community Trade honey—this mask helps to attract and lock in water to the skin’s surface. Along with honey, it’s formulated with Community Trade cold-pressed marula oil and olive oil. Skin will look replenished and supple and feel comforted and moisturized after using. Drizzle the mask into the palm of your hand and then allow your body heat to melt the concentrated honey which will help you easily spread the mask across your skin.

To Energize Tired-Looking Skin: Amazonian Acai Energizing Radiance Mask
A post shared by The Body Shop Official (@thebodyshop) on
Unlike the carefree summer season, winter can leave us feeling a little stressed—and stress can leave our skin looking fatigued. This energizing face mask is formulated with antioxidant-rich acai berry extract, guarana seed extract, and Community Trade Babassu oil. It helps to give your complexion a little pick-me-up, energizing the appearance of lackluster, tired-looking skin. Serrador says to use this mask at room temperature, applying it with a soft-bristled facial mask brush to complement its juicy, gel-like texture.
