5 Powder Sunscreens That Make Applying SPF a Breeze

Sunscreen comes in many different formulas and finishes, from your typical lotion to stick s and even shimmery applications. One of our favorite types of SPF, though, is powder sunscreen, which allows you to easily reapply your sun protection with a few sweeps of a brush. Powder sunscreen is beneficial for applying on a bare face or on top of full-coverage foundation, making it extremely versatile. Ahead, we rounded up five of our favorites we’ve tried to help take the guesswork out of choosing. [Note: You should always apply a liquid or stick sunscreen in the morning and save the powder versions for touch-ups throughout the day.]

Peter Thomas Roth Instant Mineral SPF 45

For a lightweight powder finish, try the Peter Thomas Roth Instant Mineral SPF 45. This transparent formula works on all skin types but is especially suited for oily and combination skin because of its matte finish. It has SPF 45, plus vitamins A, C and E.

Supergoop! 100% Mineral Invincible Setting Powder SPF 45

This SPF formula by Supergoop! is perfect for blurring the look of pores and excess shine. It has SPF 45 and comes with its own brush to make application easy. We love using this one to set our makeup, too.

Ilia Beauty Flow-Thru Radiant Translucent Powder SPF 20

Ilia Flow-Thru Translucent Powder SPF 20 comes in translucent, deep and medium shades. This talc-free formula also contains fruit and plant oils for extra hydration, and it works to keep your skin and makeup looking vibrant and matte.

Paula’s Choice On The Go Shielding Powder SPF 30

For a loose, velvety finish that provides sun protection, look no further than Paula’s Choice On The Go Shielding powder. It contains broad-spectrum SPF 30 and is super easy to apply, thanks to its built-in brush.

ACWell UV Cut SPF 50+ Natural Sun Cushion

The Natural Sun Cushion contains a physical formula of SPF 50+ for a long-lasting protection. It is fragrance- and color-free, plus comes with a puff cushion that is perfect for touching oily T-zones.
