We Tried the Lancôme Absolue Revitalizing and Brightening Rich Cream

Lancôme’s skin-care range features a luxurious assortment of sought-after (and aesthetically pleasing) products extending from replenishing oils and cooling eye gels to radiance masks and tinted moisturizers. While we usually don’t like to pick favorites, of the brand’s Absolue collection, there’s a skin revitalizing anti-aging cream that we believe puts others to shame. We’re talking about the Revitalizing & Brightening Rich Cream. Ahead, read our full review of the product and why you should add it to your skin-care regimen, ASAP.

The Skin-Care Benefits of the Lancôme Absolue Revitalizing & Brightening Rich Cream

The Lancôme Absolue collection dates back to 1965 and has stayed number one in our hearts since then, thanks to the revitalizing power of the rose ingredient in it. The grand rose extracts in the Absolue Revitalizing & Brightening Rich Cream formula are a concentrate of three rose extracts obtained by advanced technology. Because of this, the formula can help revitalize the skin with moisture, firmness and plumpness. Priced at $208 MSRP, the Absolue Revitalizing & Brightening Rich Cream is certainly a splurge but is undoubtedly worth it, especially if your goal is to correct multiple signs of aging. With continued use, you can expect to see a decreased appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, leaving smoother, more radiant-looking skin in its place.

For those who’ve become obsessed with the rich cream’s luxe formula, there is good news for your wallet (and the environment). When you’re ready to restock on this miracle formula, you can buy the Absolue Revitalizing & Brightening Rich Cream Refill for $166 (still a splurge, but certainly better than $208 a pop). The refill pod contains the same anti-aging formula you love but in a more eco-friendly pack. To insert the refill, start by removing the lid of your jar of the Absolue Revitalizing & Brightening Rich Cream. Pinch the gold tabs and twist the empty capsule counterclockwise until it releases. Then, insert the replacement capsule by twisting it clockwise into place. Last but not least, peel back the foil cover from your refill and enjoy.

When you’re shopping for the Absolue Revitalizing & Brightening Rich Cream, be sure not to get confused with its sister product, the Absolue Revitalizing & Brightening Soft Cream. While identical in ingredients, the soft cream and the rich cream have one difference: the texture of the cream. If you prefer luxe, thick face creams, the rich cream is your match made in heaven. If you prefer a thinner, more lightweight formula, then give the Absolue Revitalizing & Brightening Soft Cream a try.

Our Review of the Lancôme Absolue Revitalizing & Brightening Rich Cream

Winter’s cold temperatures and brutal winds haven’t exactly been kind to my skin this season. I find myself staring back at a complexion that’s dry, dull and lackluster, much of which I blame on the elements. But it’s not just the change of seasons causing this less-than-ideal skin situation. My skin-care products play a role as well, especially my moisturizer. The formula I had been using religiously during the summer and fall simply wasn’t thick or rich enough to really envelope my skin with hydration and to help defend it from moisture loss.

So, instead of picking up my go-to lightweight moisturizer, I decided to give this rich cream a try. The indulgent moisturizing cream has a rich texture (go figure) but still absorbs into the skin with ease, sans any heavy feeling or greasy residue left behind. In fact, it delivered just the right amount of hydration to plump the look of my skin with the subtle dewiness that I craved.
