How Abigail Cowen Keeps Her Skin Glowing on Set With the Help of Thayers
Between starring in a variety of Netflix shows and landing her first lead film role, Abigail Cowen has already accomplished a lot in her 23 years. She’s found her latest success in becoming the first ever celebrity partner for Thayers — a meaningful collaboration considering the brand’s toners have been a part of her beauty routine for years. Cowen chatted with Skincare.com while on the set of her latest project in Ireland to discuss all things beauty and how she keeps her skin glowing while on set (hint: it’s thanks to Thayers!) Find the full interview below.
I understand this is your first beauty brand partnership — what does it mean to you to be an ambassador for Thayers?
Working with Thayers has been so exciting for me because I already loved the brand and it’s awesome to now have the opportunity to tell everyone how much I love it — and how it makes my skin look and feel!
Who first introduced you to Thayers?
How do you incorporate the Thayers toner into your daily skincare routine?
After I wash my face and before I apply a moisturizer, I apply Thayers toner with a cotton pad to prep my skin for serum and moisturizer. I primarily use it at night, but will also use it in the morning and sometimes throughout the day to keep my skin feeling refreshed and hydrated.
How do you keep your skin in check while on set and traveling?
I try to make sure I’m using gentle products on my skin, so I always apply Thayers toner after I wash my face. It helps ensure I get all my makeup off without drying out my skin.
What’s the best skincare tip you’ve ever received?
My mom grew aloe in our yard growing up and that opened my eyes to all of the natural benefits you can receive from the plant. To this day I keep an aloe plant in my house to use the gel on my skin — it just feels amazing. That’s one of the reasons I love using natural products that incorporate aloe vera, because I know first-hand how it can benefit your skin.
What is your favorite beauty trend of the moment?
I’d say really clean, fresh-faced makeup looks. I love embracing natural beauty and just playing up my existing features.
What does beauty mean to you?
Beauty to me is having confidence walking out of the house without makeup because that is when I actually feel most beautiful. When I first did that, it was a huge risk for me. But as I got more used to it, it was actually something that I was really proud of myself for doing and now it's become part of my everyday routine.
