How to Spend $70 on Skin Care at Target Like a Beauty Editor

Being a beauty editor certainly helps when it comes to navigating the skin-care shelves at Target. When scouring the aisles — or pages, if you’re online — of offerings, it won’t take you long to discover that the retailer has a seemingly endless number of products to wade through. To help you narrow down the options, see what one Skincare.com editor would buy if she had $70 to spend at Target.

CeraVe Skin Renewing Vitamin C Face Serum With Hyaluronic Acid, MSRP $19.99

Every morning I slather on a vitamin C serum in an effort to brighten and even out the appearance of my complexion and this new serum from CeraVe is my top pick at the moment. It’s formulated with 10% vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, plus three essential ceramides, to brighten the skin and deliver long-lasting hydration while restoring your protective skin barrier. With regular use every morning, it works to boost radiance and smooth uneven texture. Plus, despite its affordable price tag, the texture feels luxe.

Garnier Skinactive Micellar Cleansing Water, MSRP $7.19

I wouldn’t be able to function without my micellar water. This one from Garnier refreshes and cleanses the skin so well, even waterproof makeup is no match for its powerful, no-rinse formula. It gently yet effectively lifts dirt, debris, oil and makeup away from your skin’s surface, with no rubbing required. It’s a saving grace for when you’re feeling too lazy to wash your face.

L'Oréal Paris Sublime Bronze Hydrating Self-Tanning Water Mousse, MSRP $11.99

To fake a sun-kissed glow, a self-tanner is a must — for me, at least. This lightweight water mousse formula provides instant natural color that dries fast and streak-free. It’s enriched with coconut water (making it smell so good) and vitamin E to hydrate and soften skin.

Versed Stroke of Brilliance Brightening Serum, MSRP $19.99

Versed is a recent addition to Target and has a variety of affordable products worth checking out. As I sifted through the line, this vitamin C brightening serum stood out to me. It’s formulated with plant extracts, licorice root and niacinamide to help fight isolated incidents of hyperpigmentation on skin’s surface and dullness.

Thayers Witch Hazel Alcohol Free Toner, MSRP $9.29

I keep a stockpile of this toner on hand at all times. It moisturizes your skin after you cleanse and preps it for the rest of your skin-care regimen.  It is formulated with witch hazel and rose petal, which work together to tighten the look of pores without over drying the skin.

Yes To Grapefruit Single Use Paper Face Mask, MSRP $2.50

Whether you’re on the go or just looking for a midweek pick-me-up — which I frequently am — this Yes To Grapefruit Paper Face Mask is great for revealing radiant, glowing skin in less than ten minutes. It helps refine pores and brighten skin with a 96% natural ingredient formula that includes grapefruit and vitamin C. Plus, it smells deliciously like grapefruit.
