Kiehl's Debuts Its First-Ever Cannabis-Infused Product

For over a hundred years, Kiehl’s has released lines of nature-inspired products that have found their way into our hearts; now they’ve added one more to the list. The Brand recently debuted their first-ever cannabis-infused concentrate: Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil Herbal Concentrate. WHAT IS THE KIEHL’S CANNABIS SATIVA SEED OIL HERBAL CONCENTRATE?

The Kiehl’s Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil Herbal Concentrate is a facial oil formulated to calm and rebalance the skin with an herbal blend of hemp-derived Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil and Green Oregano Oil. The formula boasts 100% naturally-derived ingredients, which Kiehl’s defines as ingredients that retain more than 50% of their molecular structure after being processed from a natural source. The oil can be used by all skin types, including problem-, oily- and blemish-prone skin. 

“Many people are surprised that we decided to develop an oil formula for problem or blemish-prone skin,” says Roberta Weiss, Head of Product Innovation for Kiehl’s. “When our Product Innovation team and chemists began to research ingredients to address the visible redness and discomfort experienced by people with this skin concern in a gentle and effective way, we discovered the incredible soothing and calming power of both Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil and Green Oregano Oil.” 

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF KIEHL’S CANNABIS SATIVA SEED OIL HERBAL CONCENTRATE?

Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil Herbal Concentrate feels lightweight and is non-comedogenic, so you can rest assured that it won’t clog your pores. The biggest benefit of this concentrate is that it can help to improve the appearance of visible redness after one week. Some users even felt the oil was hydrating with continued use. In a 4-week consumer perception study among 67 subjects, 91 percent of participants thought their skin felt softer after one week of use. Between 88 and 89 percent of participants felt that—after one week of use—their skin felt smoother, calmed, relieved from discomfort, and moisturized.

The Kiehl’s Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil Herbal Concentrate can be used across all skin types, especially blemish-prone skin seeking rebalancing and calming skin care products. 

MY REVIEW

As cannabis-infused products have become a growing trend across the skin care industry, I have yet to try it. That’s why I was so excited to try the first-ever cannabis-infused formulation by Kiehl’s.

While my skin is not exactly prone to blemishes, it does become visibly red and uncomfortable during the winter’s cooler months. It can also feel really dry, so a product that touts a hydrating and calming formula seemed like the perfect product to try in my daily routine. The oil, which I agree is lightweight, boasts a beautiful light green hue and absorbed into my skin quickly. My skin felt immediately hydrated. I plan to use it daily for a week to discover the calming and rebalancing effects!
