Garnier Water Rose 24H Moisture Gel vs. Moisture Cream — Which Is Right For Me?

Finding the right skin-care products for your skin type is an art form (or at least we think it is!), especially when it comes to moisturizers. So, when a brand comes out with two equally buzz-worthy sister products, it leaves us scratching our heads wondering which formula to use. Case in point: The Garnier SkinActive Water Rose 24H Moisture Cream and Gel. These two water rose products cost the same ($14.99 MSRP), which is exactly why we took a deeper dive into them, ahead.

The Garnier SkinActive Water Rose 24H Moisture Cream is formulated with rose water and hyaluronic acid to provide skin with long-lasting hydration — that’s the 24-hour part. The sheer water cream formula feels bouncy and light on the skin. This makes it ideal for application before makeup because it absorbs into the skin fast and doesn’t leave behind any greasy residue. The result is smooth, soft skin that feels instantly refreshed. Because of its cream base, the Garnier SkinActive Water Rose 24H Moisture Cream is recommended for normal to dry skin types that could use a little extra hydration (AKA all of us in winter).

The Garnier SkinActive Water Rose 24H Moisture Gel is also formulated with rose water and hyaluronic acid, like its cream counterpart. The main difference, though, is that the water-gel is non-comedogenic and won’t clog pores. Because of this, it’s recommended for normal to combination skin types — if you’re breakout-prone, this one is for you.

This or That: The Final Verdict on the Garnier SkinActive Water Rose 24H Moisture Gel vs. Moisture Cream

If you have dry skin, you may benefit more from the Moisture Cream, as it provides the rich hydration your complexion craves. For those with oily or combination skin, or anyone more prone to acne, the Moisture Gel is non-comedogenic, which might be better for your skin type.
