Best Winter Skin-Care Products, According to an Editor With Dry Skin

My skin is typically pretty normal — not too dry and not too oily — but that all changes the second winter hits. I find myself in a constant battle with dryness, flakiness and redness. After trying hydrating product after hydrating product, I’ve found a handful of creams, serums and masks that keep my skin moisturized and supple — even in the cold, dry air. Want to know what I’m keeping stocked in my skin-care cabinet this season? Keep reading because I’m breaking down my favorite winter skin-care products, ahead.

La Roche-Posay Lipikar AP+ Gentle Foaming Moisturizing Wash

I get eczema patches all over my body in the winter and this face and body wash, which is accepted by the National Eczema Association, helps calm my sensitive skin. The formula, which contains shea butter, niacinamide and glycerin, provides a clean feel and keeps the skin hydrated for up to 48 hours.

L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Derm Intensives 1.5% Pure Hyaluronic Acid Serum

Hyaluronic acid is a great ingredient to incorporate into a winter skin-care routine because it can help provide all-day hydration and plump up the skin’s appearance. One affordable, drugstore go-to is this option from L’Oréal Paris. It gives skin a dewy, glowy look, absorbs quickly and helps make skin appear visibly firmer with just a week of use.

Lancôme Rénergie Lift Multi-Action Ultra Eye Cream

Just like the rest of the face, it’s important to give the under-eye area some TLC and extra hydration during the winter months. This anti-aging eye cream from Lancôme is formulated with caffeine, hyaluronic acid and shea butter to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and dark circles. The added moisture will also create a nice base for your concealer.

H2O+ Hydration Age Renew Night Mask

On days when my skin needs an added dose of moisture, I love to reach for this overnight face mask, which is formulated with hydrating glycerin and squalane. The face mask meets moisturizer has a super rich texture that melts into the skin and locks in moisture overnight.

Garnier Green Labs Hyalu-Melon Replumping Serum Cream

For skin-care minimalists, it doesn't get much better than this three-in-one product. It’s a moisturizer, serum and SPF that works to provide 24-hour hydration and sun protection because yes, sunscreen is a must in the winter, too. Even though the formula is lightweight, the product, which contains hyaluronic acid and watermelon, provides intense moisture and plumps the appearance of fine lines.

Dr. Barbara Sturm Calming Serum

Whether it's because the central air has dried out my skin or the wind left my face red, this calming serum is my go-to for soothing my skin. It’s formula, which contains soothing purslane, works to reduce signs of irritation and rebalance the skin.
