And one topic that comes up often is how the men in our lives need a little extra help when it comes to caring for their skin. Luckily for them (though we aren’t certain they’d say the same) we know a thing or two about skin care. From how to create a men’s skin care routine from scratch to educating our guys on the importance of sunscreen application to having fun with it, we share our best advice for teaching men about skin care, ahead. KEEP IT SIMPLE Chances are, if your man doesn’t already have a skin care routine, he’s going to want to keep it simple! With that in mind, help your man build his skin care collection by sticking to the basics and choosing dual-action products. We recommend starting with a cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen, and adding more products as needed.  Need a baseline? Here’s an unfussy skin care routine men will actually want to follow.EDUCATE THEM As skin care addicts, there’s nothing we find more horrific than seeing our guys use their body wash as face wash—seriously, what are they thinking? Before you freak out over this skin care no-no (been there, done that), give them a lesson in skin care 101. Here are a few of the basics you might want to cover: ●      Always wash your face after a sweaty workout…and don’t forget to moisturize. ●      Use products based on your skin type (and while you’re at it, help them understand the differences). ●      Always wear broad-spectrum SPF when spending time outdoors…even when it’s cloudy.  ●      Keep your skin hydrated with moisturizer. ●      Body wash goes on the body and face wash goes on the face (though, chances are, if you found yourself in the above situation, you may have already covered this one).  For more skin care tips, see our roundup of easy-to-follow skin care tips for men, here.MAKE IT OBVIOUS Out of sight, out of mind is a real thing when it comes to men and their skin care regimens. If their grooming products are stored away in a drawer or medicine cabinet, chances are they aren’t even going to think about it. To prevent this from happening, keep your guy’s skin care products lined up in clear view. And while you’re at it, toss a few travel-size products in his gym bag to gently remind him to cleanse after his next workout. HAVE SOME FUN… WITH SHEET MASKS  Getting your guy to do a weekly face mask on his own may be a bit of a challenge, so why not try one together? Our favorite face masks to use on our beaus? Sheet masks! The easy-to-use, no-fuss facial masks can be a fun way to incorporate weekly masking into your guy’s skin care routine—added bonus: he can no longer look at you like you’re some sort of animal in the zoo the next time you put one on before bed.Editor’s note: Sheet masks are one of the easiest ways I can persuade my boyfriend to do a weekly at-home facial with me. I’m not sure if it is because he finds humor in how ridiculous we both look, or if he genuinely just doesn’t want to deal with clay mask removal, but he almost always agrees to sheet mask with me—and loves it!
