Target® Skin-Care Buys That Can Double as Useful Makeup Products

Even though our skin-care shelf is historically overflowing, cutting down our collection has never really been an option. While we can’t bear to say goodbye to any of our serums, moisturizers or sunscreens, we can confidently say that our products have gotten their fair share of use — in both the skin and makeup departments. We’ve scoured skin-care shelves far and wide to find the best skin-care buys that work overtime as makeshift makeup. From moisturizers that look like iridescent highlighters to lip balms that give the perfect, subtle rosy flush on our cheeks, multi-purpose skin care that doubles as makeup is our newest obsession. The best part? You can shop all of our favorites from Target.com, right now*, ahead.

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Mat Face Moisturizer

It’s imperative to have a perfectly prepped base before applying foundation. While primer is great, it’s not a must if you use the right moisturizer. This La Roche-Posay option is oil-free, mattifies your complexion and minimizes the appearance of pores. Plus, it makes an excellent base for makeup application. If you’re looking for a hydrating moisturizer to control oil and prime the skin, add this to your Target cart, ASAP.

Weleda Skin Food

Achieving the ultimate lit-from-within glow starts with skin care. The best product we think to get the job done? Weleda Skin Food. It has a thick and creamy consistency that sheers out into a gorgeous, reflective sheen. Use a small amount on the tops of your cheekbone before applying foundation. Make sure you pat the product on — don’t rub. It also layers easily over foundation for added radiance. Trust us, after using this, it’ll be your go-to highlighter.

Honest Beauty Tinted Lip Balm

If your complexion is feeling a little dull, perk it up by adding a natural-looking flush to your cheeks. Don’t have any makeup on-hand? Fear not. Use this Honest Beauty Tinted Lip Balm as a pseudo cream blush. Not only is it nourishing on your lips during the dry winter, but the tinted versions can also add a subtle, sheer, buildable color across the apples of your cheeks. Use your fingers or a brush to deposit color. (Note: This is advised to use a lip balm, so swatch test on your arm before use as a blush.)

CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser Bar

If you’ve hit the bottom of your brow gel but can’t leave the house without your bushy brows in tact, just grab this CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser Bar. It’s easily one of our favorite nourishing body washes. But, here’s a beauty editor hack: If you wet the bar, grab a spoolie and brush upwards, the body soap works great as a brow gel. Use the warmth of your fingers to set your brows in place. (Note: This is advised to be used as a rinse off product and is not recommended to be used as a brow gel, but our editors like to use it as such.)

La Roche-Posay Anthelios Tinted Mineral SPF 50

The cardinal rule of skin care is to wear sunscreen every day. Our go-to pick is this La Roche-Posay Anthelios Tinted Mineral SPF 50. It’s a sunscreen and tinted primer duo, so you get the best of both skin care and makeup. It feels lightweight, evens out skin tone and looks great on its own or under makeup.
