We don’t care who you are, how old you are or your skin type, we think it’s safe to say that everyone wants a beautiful, radiant and younger-looking complexion. Lucky for us, there isn’t a shortage of anti-aging lotions on the market. The real challenge is finding a formula that works best for you. While it definitely takes some trial and error, we at Skincare.com are always up to the challenge, which is why we’re constantly testing anti-aging products. Recently, we tried the SkinCeuticals Triple Lipid Restore 2:4:2, an anti-aging cream with a new and exclusive patented technology that has 2% pure ceramides, 4% natural cholesterol and 2% fatty acids, which is proven to nourish the skin and correct signs of aging. But does it live up to its hype? There’s only one way to find out. Ahead, check out our full review, including the product’s benefits, how to use it and more.

The Benefits of SkinCeuticals Triple Lipid Restore

As we age, our skin becomes more susceptible to losing lipids — read: ceramides, cholesterol and fatty acids —which are the natural compounds found on the skin’s surface. Lipid loss can diminish the skin’s ability to self-repair and compromise the skin’s moisture barrier. As one would guess, the skin’s moisture barrier functions to protect and maintain proper levels of skin hydration and moisture. When it becomes compromised, bad bacteria and environmental contaminants — think: pollution, sun exposure — can seep through and result in visible signs of premature skin aging, including roughness, tightness and dullness. One way to combat these negative side effects — and make skin appear more radiant and even-toned — is to add cellular lipids back onto the surface of skin. Enter: SkinCeuticals Triple Lipid Restore.

As its name suggests, the SkinCeuticals Triple Lipid Restore doesn’t mess around when it comes to restoring essential skin lipids. The anti-aging cream is formulated with a maximized concentration of pure ceramides, natural cholesterol and omega fatty acids, a ratio that’s optimized for natural barrier restoration in aging skin. The potent emollient also helps to reinforce and hydrate the skin’s barrier and support skin’s natural self-repair to reduce visible signs of premature and accelerated aging. The result? Skin that looks and feels replenished and full and looks more youthful, radiant, smooth and supple.

How to Use SkinCeuticals Triple Lipid Restore

To use, apply a small amount of the formula between your fingertips using the included spatula. Using circular motions, warm and melt the cream so it’s easier to maneuver. Then, gently apply it onto your face, neck and chest twice daily.

Want to up the ante on your anti-aging regimen while also helping to shield your skin from environmental damage? The brand recommends pairing SkinCeuticals Triple Lipid Restore with a vitamin C serum and SPF 15 or higher in the morning. The SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic is a cult-favorite vitamin C serum, and the brand’s Physical Fusion UV Defense SPF 50 sunscreen is a popular choice for broad-spectrum UV protection and for helping to enhance skin’s natural tone while boosting radiance. At night, SkinCeuticals advises pairing Triple Lipid Restore with a retinol product, like SkinCeuticals Retinol 0.5, after cleansing and toning.

SkinCeuticals Triple Lipid Restore Review

I tried Triple Lipid Restore and am giving it two big thumbs up. At first I was a bit weary of the jar packaging for hygienic purposes, because dipping fingers into a cream can be a recipe for disaster. I was pleased to discover, however, that this product comes equipped with a small black spatula, so you don’t have to continuously dip into the formula with your fingers. The texture of the cream is light and airy, and it immediately soaked onto my skin and left a very soft, smooth and comfortable feel to it. The scent is pleasant; I definitely picked up a tinge of floral, woody notes, thanks to the formula infused with peppermint, lavender and rosemary oil. I have been using it twice daily for two weeks and can already notice a significant difference in the texture, clarity and tone of my skin. It looks more even, bright and less rough. I look forward to continuing to incorporate it into my daily regimen twice a day.
